Check Valve Installation Principle and Precautions

Check valve is also called one-way valve or check valve, its function is to prevent the medium in the pipeline from flowing back. The valve that opens or closes on its own by the flow and force of the medium to prevent the medium from flowing back is called a check valve. Check valves belong to the category of automatic valves. Check valves are mainly used in pipelines where the medium flows in one direction, and only allow the medium to flow in one direction to prevent accidents.

According to the structure of the check valve, it can be divided into three types: lift check valve, swing check valve and butterfly check valve. Lift check valves can be divided into two types: vertical check valves and horizontal check valves. The swing check valve is divided into three types: single plate check valve, double plate check valve and multi-plate check valve.

The following items should be paid attention to when installing the check valve:

1.Do not allow the check valve to bear weight in the pipeline. Large check valves should be independently supported so that they are not affected by the pressure generated by the piping system.
2.When installing, pay attention to the direction of medium flow should be consistent with the direction of the arrow marked on the valve body.
3.Lifting vertical flap check valve should be installed on the vertical pipeline.
4.The lift type horizontal flap check valve should be installed on the horizontal pipeline.

Installation considerations:

1.When placing the pipeline, pay attention to make the passing direction of the wafer check valve consistent with the flow direction of the fluid, Installed in a vertical pipeline; For horizontal pipelines, place the wafer check valve vertically.
2.Use a telescopic tube between the wafer check valve and the butterfly valve, never connect it directly to other valves.
3.Avoid adding pipe joints and obstructions within the operating radius of the valve plate.
4.Do not install a reducer in front of or behind the wafer check valve.
5.When installing the wafer check valve around the elbow, pay attention to leaving enough space.
6.When installing a wafer check valve at the pump outlet, leave a space of at least six times the valve diameter to ensure that the butterfly plate is ultimately affected by the fluid.
