Flanged Butterfly Valve
The butterfly valve is a valve that uses a disc-type opening and closing member to reciprocate about 90° to open, close or adjust the flow of the medium. The butterfly valve is not only simple in structure, small in size, light in weight, low in material consumption, small in installation size, small in driving torque, simple and fast in operation, but also has good flow regulation and closing and sealing characteristics at the same time. It has been developed in the past ten years. The use of butterfly valves is very extensive. The variety and quantity of its use continues to expand, and is developing towards high temperature, high pressure, large diameter, high sealing performance, long life, excellent adjustment characteristics, and one valve with multiple functions. Its reliability and other performance indicators have reached a high level.
Commonly used butterfly valves include wafer type butterfly valves and flange type butterfly valves. Wafer butterfly valves are used to connect the valve between two pipe flanges with stud bolts. Flange butterfly valves are equipped with flanges on the valve. The flanges on both ends of the valve are connected to the pipe flanges with bolts.
Butterfly valve, as a component used to realize on-off and flow control of pipeline system, has been widely used in many fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, hydropower and so on. In the well-known butterfly valve technology, its sealing form mostly adopts a sealing structure, and the sealing material is rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. Due to the limitation of structural characteristics, it is not suitable for industries such as high temperature resistance, high pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance.
